However, underlayment pads can help smooth out minor subfloor imperfections, add extra moisture protection, insulation, and sound control properties. Bellawood Premium, Bellawood Platinum, Quiet Walk, Eco Silent Sound and Tranquility underlayment an be used in conjunction with the floating installation of this product. So I would say it should. The flooring came in random lengths, with far too many short pieces. The worst part was the amount of waste due to cracked pieces and the varying widths which leads to irregular spaces. Based on other reviews I have to agree, If you are going to have a dog, get standard red oak as the Bellawood shows every scratch.

'Complete Junk'
This floor came with a new home we purchased, the builder picked up the flooring, while is does look amazing at first, that look lasts about 1 week, as soon as you drop anything on the floor and I mean anything, it will dent. Sections have begun to split and separate. The floor also scratches very very easily. I would avoid Lumber Liquidators and anything that sells Bellawood on it, and yes we tried the specific Bellawood floor cleaner, that wont help scratches, dents of splitting. Do your research this flooring is complete junk and wont last. Buyer beware!

The floor looked beautiful when first installed, but that didn't last long. The flooring came in random lengths, with far too many short pieces. The worst part was the amount of waste due to cracked pieces and the varying widths which leads to irregular spaces.Based on other reviews I have to agree, If you are going to have a dog, get standard red oak as the Bellawood shows every scratch. Also, what ever you do.... do NOT drop anything on the floor as it dents. I believe the Koa was to be harder than oak - not so. Also read that the 50, 100 year warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on.Has I researched the product instead of listening to Bob Villa I would not have purchased this product. Caveat Emptor!

'PDB Pretty darn bad'
At half the price I might've been just neutral, but with what this cost I am very unsatisfied! The mill work is poor to begin with, I let the climate ties for over 30 days at approximately 30% humidity, when I install that it was tight, over the last year and a half it has shrunk considerably. The darker pieces have shrunk more than the lighter colored ones. That tells me that it was poorly cured. To summarize is just a cheap product at a high marketed price. You're being charged for hype. I've been in the construction industry my whole life, I've been in new and remodel construction since I first rode with my father To jobs. I swear it's a product that Should be sold at a Walmart. I do not recommend it for anyone building anything nice. Just my opinion,

Bellawood Platinum Underlayment Reviews

Within 2 weeks of install, noticed white fine splintering along the grain of the wood. Boards were also starting to show gaps more the 1/16th. Took the unopened boxes back for refund. Was going to do the entire 1st floor of my home and glad I paused after doing a 11x11 room. All my moisture levels met requirements from manufacture. House is dry and on crawl space. Sub floor was very dry and well below limits. Followed all recommendations. Having to load up 22 boxes and take it back....not happy.Name: Karen lippincott

'Find another company'
Searched for months to find the right style, color, width flooring, and found Bella Cera Cinque Terre, engineered flooring. We were very excited and loved it for the first six months. Then I noticed scratch marks under the stools in the kitchen, and under various other furniture pieces, doubled up on the felt pads and tried to restain those areas. Didn't work. two years later, this floor is a mess. Scratches all over the place, stain coming up in all the heavily traffic areas (by the way, there are only two of us). It is the fault of the Pre-finish garbage they are using. Tried to complain to the folks who sold it to us, and got nowhere except to say that's what happens to dark wood floors and that's what happens when you have high traffic areas. Not true. Had hardwoods all the time growing up, never saw this kind of wear and I had two dogs, three cats. If I cannot get satisfaction anywhere, I will sand, restain and poly the daylights out of them. Since no one is willing to step to the plate and fix this mess, what good is a 200 year warranty? I love the way these floors look, but the pre-finish is non-existent. Look elsewhere, buy something from a company that stands behind and on top of their product.Name: Mark

'Hardly 'Hard' wood'
I agree with reviewers that are talking about dents and scratches. Just had 600 square feet of the stuff installed. Same thing... we have no kids, we walk around in stocking feet - less than 3 weeks later we already have dents. Lined all our furniture with thick felt pads. An adult male sat on one of our oak kitchen chairs for about an hour. We padded all the feet ahead of time. The sun came through the window the next day... a mess of dents! Arrghhh! Not even sure why they even sell the stuff. The rest of house has 50 year old red oak floors and that never would have happened.

'Bella Red Oak'
I bought this flooring 800 square feet the better brand in 3inch plank, this wood was suposoded to be so strong and durableand. I accidently have droped a hair brush and it dented. It scratches easy and dented from just chairs that had felt on them for protection. We purchased the higher priced one so that they would look unified and many of the planks are different. I have worried about this floor since installed because of it not being durable. that I have throw rugs over it to protect it more and to cover areas that have damaged. so regret it and should of listen to husband to go with carpet or a different brand. Also Lumber liquidators took 3 month to finally finish its order.

'Love it'
I don’t understand the negative reviews at all... my hubby installed in our dining room 8 years ago and in our study 2 years go and now in the great room. It is gorgeous... installed with no issues.... holds up well. Brazilian cherry darkens in color as the sun hits it, so if you cover part with a rug it will definitely be lighter, but that is what is supposed to do. I don’t see it scratching easy either. Ours has held up beautifully. I am perplexed by these reviews... three time we have installed the same product and three times we are happy.
